KFL 2060 Exam autumn 2011

The endeavour to achieve a gender balance in access to political power is one cornerstone of the Nordic concept of democracy and gender equality policy.

-Describe the development of women’s political presence in the Nordic parliaments during the last century.

-Discuss if the change in the gender composition of political institutions has been merely quantitative or if it also has had an impact on the contents of politics and the outcomes of policy? If so, in what respect and in which political fields or/and issues?

- Give examples from at least two Nordic countries. You may also make comparisons to your own country.

Exam information

During the course each student must give one verbal presentation on a topic decided by the teacher. This presentation must be approved in order to present oneself for the final examination. The final eksamination is a three-days home essay over a given topic. The essay must have a length of min. 6 and max. 8 pages, (2300 characters per page (not counting spaces) references in addition). The essay, written in English, will be assessed according to a scale from A to E for passing, and F for fail.
